Cooper Basin, Australia — Hydrocarbon survey

Remote-sensing survey of one of Australia's most prospective onshore hydrocarbon basins, with anomaly mapping and depth estimation across the licence area.

Objective

Apply the NMR-based remote-sensing method to a mature exploration basin to identify hydrocarbon anomalies missed or de-prioritised by conventional seismic.

Approach

Acquired multi-orbital satellite imagery of the licence area; processed with chemical-reagent visualisation tuned to oil + gas spectra; computed depth at 2–3 points per anomaly from boundary-displacement.

Outcome

Mapped hydrocarbon anomalies across the licence area, with depth profiles and predicted-resource estimates supplied to the operator for drilling-priority decisions.
